The volume of data and number of applications on "things" and commodity "nodes" is rapidly increasing. We now must redefine how to protect ourselves and our assets. This presentation takes a brief look at where big data security is today and then, peers into the future with practical examples of where we are immediately headed; new projects will be visited, such as Accumulo, Tahoe-LAFS and OneFS.
