Abstract:?In 2017, AMD began shipping the first general-purpose x86 CPUs with integrated memory encryption hardware.? These features provide the ability to selectively encrypt some or all of system memory as well as the ability to run encrypted virtual machines, isolated from the hypervisor. This talk will cover the motivation for memory encryption, technical details related to these new ISA features, lifecycle management, and resources for exploring these new hardware security technologies.
