PORTAL is an inexpensive, open source platform for secure communications while traveling. Using commodity travel routers and open source software, it provides sanitized local network access tunneled across hostile public networks, with a fail-secure design. In addition to defeating intermediary traffic manipulation, it provides both local and distant end firewalling, IDS/IPS, and DLP support.
